At Club Pink Taco, two men — Edgar and Danny — sit at a small table near the stage, seen through the legs of a dancer in a pink thong. Edgar insists the dancer looked directly at him, calling it a “soul gaze.” Danny confidently claims it was eye contact and says she’s “begging for a connection.” The lighting glows hot pink with stage lights framing the scene. Edgar and Danny continue their delusional flirting strategy under pink neon lights. Edgar claims the dancer licked her lips and says it’s a “mating signal,” while Danny decides to “shoot his shot” and thinks of writing something that makes him seem deep — “but with wheels.” The Club Pink Taco logo glows behind them. Backstage at Club Pink Taco, dancer Buffy and stage kitten Simone look at a crumpled napkin that reads, “I don’t have a car but I have a bike and I can pick you up. Love, Danny.” Buffy looks unimpressed as Simone dryly comments, “You can always tell who peaked in middle school.” Pink lockers and bright lighting fill the dressing room background. In that case, you definitely need the bonus panel.”

[Panel 1]
EDGAR: Did you see that? She looked right at me. That’s like, a soul gaze.
DANNY: Bro, that was eye contact. She’s basically begging for a connection.

[Panel 2]
EDGAR: I think she licked her lips. That’s a mating signal, bro. It’s biology.
DANNY: Time to shoot my shot. Something that says I’m deep… but like, with wheels.

[Panel 3]
NAPKIN: “I don’t have a car but I have a bike and I can pick you up. Love, Danny.”
BUFFY: What even is this?
SIMONE: You can always tell who peaked in middle school.

Delusional At First Sight

Bonus panel for the NSFW tiers on my Patreon. Bonus panels are NSFW, but not needed to get the joke/etc. in the more SFW version.

I mentioned that I was bringing in Danny and Edgar, characters from the end of the legacy timeline of Zombie Roomie. This is Edgar's first Club Pink Taco appearance.

I need more male characters for the cast that aren't just random patrons. So these dorks got the call. They're still 100% just patrons of the club-- they'll never be in a traditional relationship with any of the staff. I wanted characters that I could do strips with where they've bought into the "the stripper loves me" trope.

The need for more male cast members who are more present in the staff's lives is also still a thing. I've got an idea for someone to come in and help Buffy with the boring parts of running the club, but their relationship makes bonus panel stuff a little tricky... so I haven't pulled that trigger yet.
